Well done for completing week 3 of the Radiation Protection in Dental Practice course.

During this week we have:

  • Had a closer look at the safety features of each type of dental X-ray set

  • Learned how patient dose can be optimised

  • Learned when the use of PPE is advised to protect patients

  • Learned what additional measures are put in place to minimise exposure to staff members e.g.:

    • room design features
    • additional administrative controls
    • PPE (in certain situations)

Next week we will revisit the ionising radiation legislation and how it is put into practice.

Take some time to reflect on what you have learned today and begin to think about the topics we will discuss next week.

In the comments, share your thoughts on this week.
