Congratulations on reaching the end of week 2. We hope you have found the course enjoyable and informative so far.

This week you have studied two different cases on the use of procalcitonin in different hospital settings. You should have an appreciation of the versatility of this biomarker and how it can be used to treat different patients.

In the final week of the course, you will look at how diagnostics are useful in current cases such as the recent COVID-19 pandemic. You will also look at how procalcitonin can be specifically used. Finally, you will look at the barriers and limitations of procalcitonin as a biomarker.
