What will I learn?

Read about the PEAK course objectives

This course is designed for physiotherapists who manage adults with persistent knee pain consistent with a diagnosis of osteoarthritis.

By the end of the course, you should be able to…

  • Describe the best-practice management of knee osteoarthritis, based on the latest research evidence
  • Effectively educate your patients about osteoarthritis, its prognosis and common treatment approaches, including the benefits of exercise and strategies for staying physically active.
  • Apply a structured program of education, strengthening exercises and an individualised physical activity plan with your clients who have persistent knee pain.
  • Confidently deliver the PEAK program in your clinical setting, during both face-to-face consultations and via telehealth (Zoom).

How will this course benefit me?

  • This training will equip you to better manage patients with chronic knee pain, and will provide you with a range of skills that are transferable to other clinical populations.
  • You will learn basic principles of telehealth. Although the course focuses on Zoom videoconferencing, the telehealth principles are applicable to a wide variety of telehealth platforms and you can apply what you learn to other videoconferencing software.
  • Online learning is an effective and efficient way to learn, and allows you to complete activities at your own pace.
  • You will receive a certificate of completion (only be available to learners who choose the course upgrade option) as proof of continuing professional development

To help you get the most benefit out of the course:

  • All videos and audio are subtitled, and the transcripts can be downloaded below the video window.
  • Post on the discussion board and read other discussion posts – we can all learn from each other.
  • Consider how the PEAK programme may work in your clinical setting.
  • Opt for the course upgrade for ongoing access to all content, receive a certificate on completion that can be used for continuing professional development, and access to the physiotherapist and patient resources associated with the program to use for clinical use!
