Explore the importance of inclusion and adapting your practice
This course aims to develop your ability to adapt practice as a result of developing knowledge and understanding of the spectrum of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This will include exploring inclusion strategies for the more able and how to apply them.

- Universal design – adaptation before there’s a need
- What are dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, phonological processing and working memory?
- Cognitive processing
- High attaining pupils
- What is inclusion?
- Adapting an exercise for SEN pupils

- Explain when and how to differentiate activities to effectively impact learning
- Improve and adapt teaching to ensure all pupils make at least good progress
- Contribute to and plan for pupil progress using knowledge of specific learning difficulties
- Improve and adapt practice as a result of developing knowledge and understanding of the spectrum of special educational needs of pupils within the school environment
- Apply inclusion strategies for the more able
- Apply specific teaching strategies to encourage challenge learning including, oral, written, peer, audio etc.
