Dive into the concept of research impact

This course helps you to understand research impact and planning for an impactful project. You’ll learn the concept of research impact and how research impact makes a difference to the research outcomes. In addition, you’ll also learn about Impact Master Planning (IMP) and how to engage with stakeholders to help develop your research impact.

Explore reporting, communicating and continuous assessment for the impactful project

You’ll explore how to report and communicate your research with continuous monitoring and evaluation. This course will guide you in developing a plan for the impact of your research study. Ultimately, you’ll also learn about continuous assessment, introduce the basics of monitoring and evaluation, and discuss the approaches developed using Impact Master Tracking (IMT) and Impact Evaluation Rubric (IER) for monitoring and evaluating research impact.

Hi, I am Dr Azizi Abu Bakar, Research Officer at the Universiti Malaya Community Engagement Centre (UMCares), Malaysia. Hello everyone! I am Dr Ayu Hasan, I’m researcher at Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. My name is Azlin from the Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. Welcome to our course. We are serious about impact and we want you to be equally equipped with tools to help make your project impactful. In our course, we will be introducing you to what is an impactful research, to communicate these ideas and finally to evaluate it.

  • Week 1

    Understanding and Planning for Impactful Projects

      As introduction, this part will brief the first week overview, introducing the team and ice breaking for getting to know all of you.

      In this part, we will introduce you on the concept of research impact by providing several established definitions, types of research impacts, and role of research impact to SDGs and ESG.

      This part focuses on ways in planning and developing research impact with examples of case studies.

    Reporting, Communicating and Continuous Assessment for Impactful Projects

      In this last part, we will introduce the basics of monitoring and evaluation and share how to track and evaluate your project or research using Impact Master Tracking (IMT) and Impact Evaluation Rubric (IER) tools.

Hello! My name is Nor Azlin or in short Lynn. I am currently hold a position as Research Officer at the University of Malaya. My research interests focusing on grants management and impact assessment.

Amer Siddiq Amer Nordin

Dr Amer Siddiq is a consultant psychiatrist and the Director of the Universiti Malaya Engagement Center (UMCares).

He is an advocate in mental health and tobacco control.
