Draw together the course principles in a learning-centred leadership model

In this course, you will have the opportunity to explore learning-centred leadership theory and to draw together the lessons of educational leadership considered across the modules you have studied so far.

You will have the chance to consider a proposed theory of pedagogy, and to examine and evaluate the implications of adopting a learning-centred leadership approach in education.

You will also have the opportunity to apply your learning in a variety of case studies, including comparisons of different leadership models for institutions at various stages in their development.

  • Review and evaluate different research findings and theories focused on effective schools.
  • Apply learning from modules 1-4 to a model of leadership which is focused on teaching and learning: learning-centred leadership.
  • Evaluate the merits and obstructions for headteachers who focus on adopting a learning-centred leadership approach.
  • Investigate the different leadership models for schools at different stages in their development.
  • Evaluate a proposed theory of pedagogy based on three premises, three principles and a brief narrative.
  • Construct a comprehensive view of the implications of all the leadership lessons from all four taught modules to the implementation of a learning-centred leadership approach.
  • Apply the learning-centred leadership model in a variety of case study examples.
  • Review a range of key concepts introduced throughout the course and their application to a learning-centred leadership approach.
