This course introduces you to the theories of how pupils learn, and demonstrates how this knowledge can inform teaching practice to significantly impact learning.

- The basic principles of educational psychology and its impact on teaching
- The basic principles of child development theories and what cognitive and emotional aspects affect learning
- Managing behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment

- Assess how pupils learn and how this knowledge can inform teaching and significantly impact on learning
- Develop an understanding of the basic principles of learning theories (constructivism, cognitivism, behaviourism), contemporary issues in education, and how to practically apply these
- Explore relevant theories of behaviourism and how these affect pupils' behaviour
